Ocean City Districts
When looking for the perfect home, where you reside matters. And in Ocean City, there are several districts in which to choose, each with their own distinct feel. Whether you are looking for the historic features of a traditional beach town, or a livelier beach lifestyle, Ocean City has it all.
Downtown Ocean City
Downtown Ocean City, which runs from the Inlet to 33rd Street, is the epitome of a traditional East Coast beach town. With a thriving historic district, a host of family amusements and a three-mile-long Boardwalk, there’s no shortage of entertainment for the young and young-at-heart. Be sure to visit some of Ocean City’s oldest properties, including the Henry Hotel, learn more about the resort’s past at the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, or enjoy views of the Ocean City Inlet, which overlooks neighboring Assateague Island. The downtown district is at the heart of the action during Ocean City’s summer months, when visitors flock to the beach for a week of fun and relaxation. Popular downtown haunts include Jolly Roger at the Pier, Trimper’s Rides, Playland arcades and Harbour Island, home of the White Marlin Open. For a bite to eat or a refreshing drink, be sure to visit Fish Tales, Angler Restaurant and Dock Bar, Spain Wine Bar or Pickles Pub, to name a few.
Midtown Ocean City
Midtown Ocean City runs from 33rd Street to 94th Street and encompasses hundreds of residential neighborhoods, restaurants and bars. Known for its relaxed community vibe, midtown offers a unique experience for families and visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown. The area also has a vibrant foodie scene, particularly along the bayside, with popular restaurants including The Hobbit, Mackey’s Bayside Bar & Grill, Seacrets and Saltwater 75. The midtown district also features boutique shops such as Real Raw Organics and ish Boutique, jet ski rental companies and several mini golf courses. Situated at the center of it all is the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, which brings several national acts and conventions to the resort each year.
Uptown Ocean City
Uptown Ocean City, which runs from 94th Street to the Maryland-Delaware line, features all the creature comforts of a community while offering unparalleled views of the ocean. When they aren’t enjoying a beach day on the quieter north-end sands, residents can be found at the Gold Coast Mall, Fox Movie Theater, Ocean City Library or Northside Park, which boasts several fields and the resort’s annual Winterfest of Lights holiday light display. Uptown Ocean City is also home to the Ocean City Center for the Arts, which hosts the Art League of Ocean City and several art events throughout the year. For a bite to eat, be sure to visit the Original Green Turtle, Tequila Mockingbird, and AlleyOops.
