Ocean City

March 3-6: Ocean City Film Festival

The sixth season of the Ocean City Film Festival returns to the resort March 3-6 with more than 100 independent film submissions from around the world. The event features in-person screenings at local theaters and special events throughout the weekend. All-access passholders will receive virtual access to the entire film collection. Passes and schedules are available online.

March 4: First Friday Open Reception

On the first Friday of each month, the Art League of Ocean City hosts its First Friday Open Reception at the Ocean City Center for the Arts. Community members can meet artists, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and view new exhibits. The event, held from 5-7 p.m., is free and open to the public.

March 11-13: St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament

The second installment of the St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament returns to Northside Park March 11-13 with its Adult Men’s and Adult Women’s Open Divisions. For more information, contact [email protected] or visit oceancitymd.gov/soccer. Registration fee is $400 per team. 

March 11-13: Delmarva Wool & Fiber Expo

Held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, the Delmarva Wool & Fiber Expo gathers vendors to educate attendees and promote the natural fiber industry. The event features shopping, classes and demonstrations taught by true artists. Hours are Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $4 a day or $5 for the weekend. 

March 12: St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Ocean City’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place Saturday, March 12. Festivities start at 11 a.m. at the 45th Street Village Parking Lot, with the parade following promptly at noon. The parade, which runs from 60th Street to 44th Street, features more than 100 entries from three states.

March 12: St. Patrick’s Irish Scramble

Eagle’s Landing Golf Course will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Scramble with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Teams will play six holes from each gold, white and blue tees. Teams choose the holes they play from each of the tees, and 30% of the team’s average handicap will be used. Balls that land in a clover will be deemed holed. Gross and net prizes will be awarded, and lunch will be provided. Cost is $60 per player. 

March 12-13: March AAU Grand Prix 

Participants of the March AAU Grand Prix have a chance to win a bid to the AAU Nationals, the biggest volleyball event in the world. Hosted at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, the Worcester County Recreation Center and the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, games will continue throughout the weekend. Spectators are welcome with an admission ticket. 

March 18-20: Home, Condo & Outdoor Show

The Home, Condo & Outdoor Show returns to the Roland E. Powell Convention Center March 18-20 with a display of new products and services for any home. An art and craft fair will also be held in conjunction with the home show, featuring an assortment of gifts and accessories made by craftspeople. Show times are Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors ages 55 and up, $6 for students ages 14-22, and free for ages 13 and under and military, police and fire with ID.

March 25-27: Reach the Beach Ocean City Grand National

Reach the Beach returns to Ocean City March 25-27 for its DI/DII All-Star competition. Held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, the event features teams from all over the region. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit varsity.com/acda. 

March 30: Originals Only

Held at the Art League of Ocean City, Originals Only is a free, monthly performance by local musicians and comedians. This month’s featured artists include DomtheGonzo, Josh Quillen, Big Chap and Fraiser Fir. The event runs from 7-9 p.m.

March 17: Delaware Botanic Gardens Ribbon Cutting

The Delaware Botanic Gardens will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its expansion and renovations. A welcome reception begins at 9 a.m., with a ribbon cutting to follow at 11 a.m.

March 2: Family Movie Night

As part of a series featuring water-based movies, families are invited to the South Coastal Library for a showing of “Luca.” Free individual bags of popcorn, juice and water bottles are provided. Crafts will also be provided as the movie plays. The movie begins at 5 p.m. Registration is encouraged.

March 10-13: Scrapbooking Weekend

Join participants for an all-inclusive Scrapbooking Weekend at Hyatt Place Dewey Beach. Registration includes a two-night hotel stay, six feet of table space, gifts and door prizes. Lunch and dinner will be provided. Add a Thursday night hotel stay for an additional fee and early access to your scrapbooking spot.

Milton

March 13: 9th Annual Lucky Leprechaun 5K

As a precursor to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Town of Milton will host the 9th Annual Lucky Leprechaun 5K. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m., and the race starts at 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the Milton Chamber of Commerce, Milton Fire Department and Gladys Wilkins Seeding the Future Scholarship Fund. The entrance fee is $35, and long-sleeve race shirts and refreshments will be offered. Awards will also be presented in various categories. 

March 13: The 14th Annual Milton St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Held in historic downtown Milton, the 14th Annual Milton St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns March 13 starting at 2 p.m. View parade participants as they make their way to the parade center on Union Street.

March 18-25: CABARET!

The Milton Theatre will host its in-house mainstage production of the full-length musical drama CABARET! Showings occur March 18 at 8 p.m., March 19 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., March 20 at 2 p.m., March 24 at 7:30 p.m., March 25 at 8 p.m. and March 26 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are sold through the theatre’s website. 

Rehoboth Beach 

March 5: Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival

The Harry K Foundation will host its annual Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center. Eight judged categories include: brownie, cake, candy, cookie, pie, ice cream, other and showpiece (non-edible). Proceeds will benefit The Harry K Foundation and its work to defeat childhood hunger in Delaware. For more information, email Laura Annan Glascoe at [email protected]. March 20: Women of Note Concert

Rehoboth Concert Band will present “Women of Note - Celebrating National Women’s History Month.” The concert will benefit Cape Henlopen Senior Center at Epworth United Methodist Chuch, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth. March 5: Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park Annual Meeting

March 12-13: Delaware Resorts Health, Fitness & Leisure Expo

Held at Cape Henlopen High School, Delaware Resorts Health, Fitness & Leisure Expo will feature more than 60 of the area’s top health, wellness, fitness, leisure and home product and service companies. Free flu shots and health screenings, gifts and prizes will be given. The event will be held Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free. 

March 26: Merchants’ Attic Sale

The state’s largest indoor garage sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cape Henlopen High School. Organized by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, the sale features vendors selling excess business inventory, handmade items, antiques, collectibles and second-hand household items.
