Ocean City
February 4:
First Friday Open ReceptionOn the first Friday of each month, the Art League of Ocean City hosts its First Friday Open Reception at the Ocean City Center for the Arts. Community members can meet artists, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and view new exhibits. The event, held from 5-7 p.m., is free and open to the public.
February 5-6: Eastern Shore Showdown
The Eastern Shore Showdown is a two-day volleyball tournament held at various locations throughout the Eastern Shore over Presidents’ Day weekend. In recent years, the Showdown has grown by leaps and bounds and features several teams in multiple divisions. Spectator tickets are available online for $25.
February 6: Best Wings on the Shore Contest
The 8th Annual Best Wings on the Shore Contest returns to Seacrets February 6. Held from noon to 3 p.m., the contest features wings from 15 of the area’s best bars. Attendees will judge the contest and vote on the Best Overall, Most Creative and Hottest Wing. Admission is $20 per person at the door, and proceeds will benefit the Ocean 98 Cash for College Fund.
February 11-13: Ocean City Futsal Classic
Held at the Northside Park complex, the Ocean City Futsal Classic offers fun and competition for soccer players ages 10 to 18. Tournament fees are $225 per team. For additional information, contact [email protected] or visit oceancitymd.gov/soccer.
February 13: Super Bowl Scramble
The Super Bowl Scramble, held at Eagle’s Landing Golf Course, kicks off with a tailgate party at 9 a.m., followed by an 18-hole scramble tournament at 10 a.m. In true football fashion, points are awarded for touchdowns and field goals, and teams consist of a coach, quarterback, running back and receiver. February 18-20: Ocean City Indoor Cup
Yet another popular event in the town’s winter tournament series, the Ocean City Indoor Cup is a weekend-long competition held at Northside Park for soccer players ages 10 to 14. Team entry fee is $400. For more information, contact [email protected] or visit oceancitymd.gov/soccer.
February 18-20: Seaside Boat Show
Dubbed the “number one inside boat show on the Eastern Shore,” the Seaside Boat Show is an annual event that raises funds to support local youth in the form of contests, awards banquets and scholarships. Each year, the boat show features roughly 350 boats, more than 140 exhibitors, over 50 boat dealers and more. February 25-27: St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament
The first installment of the St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament returns to Northside Park February 25-27 with its Adult Co-Rec Division, Over 30 Division and Teen Division (Ages 15-18). For more information, contact [email protected] or visit oceancitymd.gov/soccer. Registration fee is $400 per team.
February 26: Reach the Beach Grand Nationals (Dance)
Reach the Beach returns to Ocean City on February 26 for its national dance competition. Held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, the event features teams from all over the region. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit varsity.com/acda.
Bethany Beach
February 12: Surfin’ Snowman 5 Mile Run & 2 Mile Walk
Community members are invited to join the 9th Annual Surfin’ Snowman, Bethany Beach’s first and only twilight run/walk. Proceeds from the yearly event support the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company, Justin’s Beach House and Contractors for a Cause. Dewey Beach
February 3-6: Scrapbooking Weekend
An all-inclusive scrapbooking weekend will be held February 3-6 at the Lighthouse Cove Event Center in Dewey. February 26: Annual Dewey Beach Winter Gala 2022
The Dewey Business Partnership will host its annual Winter Gala February 26 at the Lighthouse Cove Event Center. The evening features music, food and drinks, with proceeds benefiting all aspects of Dewey Beach, including events, public safety, town beautification and more. Rehoboth Beach
February 4-6: “39 Steps” at Clear Space Theatre
Patrick Barlow’s adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps will perform at Clear Space Theatre, where attendees will have the opportunity to partake in a fast-paced whodunit theater performance. Additional information can be found on Clear Space Theatre’s website. Showings conclude on Feb. 6.
February 26-27: “Sylvia” at Clear Space Theatre
A Reader’s Theatre collaboration with the Delaware Humane Association, “Sylvia” will perform at Clear Space Theatre February 26-27. Lewes
February 6: 2022 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge
The 2022 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge returns to the beach on February 6 for a day of fun and fundraising, as proceeds support athletes of Special Olympics Delaware.
