Ocean City
December 1-31: Winterfest of Lights
Winterfest of Lights runs nightly through December 31. Take a walking tour of the holiday lights, sip hot chocolate and take a photo with Santa. The event is held at Northside Park. Admission is $6 for guests ages 12 and older.
December 3: Ocean City Christmas Parade
The Ocean City Christmas Parade returns for a day of holiday celebration. Bring your chairs and blankets and get a good viewing spot as floats, bands and vehicles make their way from Old Landing Road to 120th Street. The Carousel will also be open following the parade for an awards presentation and family friendly fun. The parade begins promptly at 11 a.m.
December 4: Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra
The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra will host its Holiday Joy Concert, featuring soprano Rochelle Bard, at the Ocean City civic center. The show begins at 3 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online and at the box office.
December 6: American Cancer Society Holiday Wrappings Luncheon & Fashion ShowThe Holiday Wrappings Luncheon & Fashion Show is a fundraiser and community awareness event for the American Cancer Society. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and tickets are $50 per person.
December 10: Ocean City Comic Con
The Roland E. Powell Convention Center will host Ocean City Comic Con, a full day of panels, events, contests, screenings and more. Comic Con also features hundreds of guests, vendors, exhibitors, cosplayers and artists. General admission is $12 and kids ages 9 and younger are free with a paying adult. Guests can receive $1 off with a non-perishable food item or $1 off if in costume. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
December 28: Originals Only
The Art League of Ocean City will host its monthly Originals Only showcase from 7-9 p.m. Enjoy coffee and live performances by DomtheGonzo, Josh Quillen, Big Chap and Fraiser Fir. Event is free to attend.
December 30: Mayor’s New Year Event - The Greatest Piano Man
The Mayor’s New Year Event will feature a tribute to piano playing prodigies and rock and roll legends, including Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Beethoven and more. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, and ticket sales will benefit the Ocean City Paramedic Foundation.
Berlin
December 1: Berlin Christmas Parade
Celebrate the holiday season at the Berlin Christmas Parade and watch marching bands, dance teams, fire companies and floats make their way down historic Main Street. The parade begins at 7 p.m.
December 31: Berlin New Year’s Eve Celebration and Ball Drop
The Town of Berlin will host two New Year’s Eve celebrations, with a kids ball drop at 6 p.m. on the corner of Pitts and Main streets and an adult ball drop beginning at 10 p.m.
Selbyville
December 2: 61st Annual Selbyville Christmas Parade
Floats, fire trucks and marching bands, as well as food and fun, will highlight the 61st Annual Selbyville Christmas Parade, held on Church Street. The event begins at 7 p.m.
Bethany Beach
December 3: Holiday Happenings
Party with Santa, enjoy trolley and tractor rides, and participate in the town’s tree lighting at Holiday Happenings, hosted by the Town of Bethany Beach. Festivities will take place at town hall beginning at 1 p.m.
December 3, 10, 17: Weekend Wonderland In Bethany
Celebrate the holidays at Weekend Wonderland, where shoppers can enjoy tax-free shopping, fun activities and scavenger hunts every Saturday prior to Christmas. Participants can also meet Santa each week. Participating businesses will be announced.
December 10-17: Coastal Christmas Showdown
The Coastal Christmas Showdown invites residents and business owners to put up their best displays for a chance at prizes and bragging rights. Displays will be pictured and posted on the town’s website and Facebook page, where community members will have a chance to vote on their favorite decorations.
Dewey Beach
December 31: Dewey Ball Drop
Ring in 2023 at the Dewey Ball Drop, held at Route 1 and New Orlean Street oceanside. Free event and free parking.
Rehoboth Beach
December 3: Rehoboth Seashore Marathon
Held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Rehoboth Seashore Marathon - a Boston Marathon qualifier - starts at the bandstand and finishes on 4th Street, behind the Rehoboth Beach Running Company. A half-marathon route is also available.
December 3-4, 10-11, 17-18: Santa’s House On The Boardwalk
Santa’s House returns to the Boardwalk, at the end of Rehoboth Avenue. Bring your Christmas wish list and a camera. The event will be held from 1-3 p.m. each weekend.
December 5: Hometown Christmas Parade
The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company presents the Hometown Christmas Parade. The event will take place from 6-9 p.m.
December 18: Holiday Peace Concert
The Holiday Peace Concert, held at Epworth United Methodist Church, will feature an afternoon of holiday music. The event will take place from 3-5 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door, and those ages 18 and younger are free.
Lewes
December 1: Hospitality Night At The Zwaanendael Museum
Join Hospitality Night at the Zwaanendael Museum, a holiday-themed event featuring historical interpreters, demonstrations, music and seasonal refreshments. The event runs from 5-8 p.m.
December 1: Lewes Merchants’ Hospitality Night
Lewes Merchants’ Hospitality Night takes place in and around the Lewes Historic District commercial areas from 5-8 p.m. Second Street will be closed to vehicular traffic allowing pedestrians to meet friends and socialize. Evening shopping, complimentary refreshments and live music will be offered. Kids can visit Santa at the corner of Bank and Second streets.
December 2: Winter Wonder Holiday Celebration
Held at the Children’s Beach House from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Winter Wonder Holiday Celebration will feature entertainment, dinner, drinks, and live and silent auctions. Funds raised will benefit the Children’s Beach House.
December 3: 13th Annual Holiday Open House
The 13th Annual Holiday Open House will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rehoboth Art League. The event will feature fine arts and crafts and holiday gift items.
December 3: Tour Zwaanendael Museum
Enjoy the museum’s festive holiday decor created by the Sussex Gardeners. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
December 3: Lewes Historical Society’s Holiday Village
Held at the Lewes Historical Society campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Holiday Village features food, music, vendors and unique holiday gifts. Admission is $5 a person and free for children ages 12 and younger.
December 3: Holiday Tour Of Lewes
Local homeowners will open their doors to the community during the Lewes Historical Society’s Holiday Tour of Lewes. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tour tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-10 and $5 for children ages 5 and under.
December 3: 90th Annual Lewes Christmas Parade
The 90th Annual Lewes Christmas Parade, “Celebrating an Old-Fashioned Christmas,” will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Join the mayor for a tree lighting and candlelight caroling in the park after the parade.
December 9-10: Friends Of Lewes Public Library Holiday Sale
Friends of the Lewes Public Library will host its Holiday Sale Dec. 9, from 2-4 p.m., and Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Lewes library. Find rare and collectable books, discounted books and holiday cards, among other things.
December 17: St. Peter’s Cookie Walk
St. Peter’s Cookie Walk will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. Proceeds benefit St. Peter’s Choir and Heart & Soul Ministry.
December 18: Rehoboth Concert Band Presents “Holiday Peace”
Held at Epworth United Methodist Church, the Rehoboth Concert Band presents “Holiday Peace,” a musical celebration with both traditional and unique selections. The concert will start at 3 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 at the door. Attendees ages 18 and under are free.
