Top-Notch, Accredited Child Care Facilities in Maryland
According to the Census Bureau, more than 300,000 of the 15 million children in the U.S. under the age of six who regularly require child care live in Maryland, making child care options an important factor in any home search. And with one of the state’s top public education systems, and a plethora of private learning options, Worcester County is a great place to start. Check out some of these top-notch, accredited child care facilities.
Berlin Child Development Center: Located in “America’s Coolest Small Town,” Berlin Child Development Center offers child care, preschool and kindergarten. The licensed facility offers not only care, but educational experiences for up to 30 children.
Berlin Education Station: Berlin Education Station is a fully accredited child care facility. With qualified teachers and a new facility, children from six weeks to 15 years can receive top educational experiences. Berlin Education Station also offers before- and after-school programs, summer camps, and cheer and gymnastics teams.
Bundles Of Joy University - Berlin Campus: Bundles of Joy offers programs developed with each child in mind. Offering hands-on experiences for infants, toddlers and young kids, children can learn through play and structured curriculum. The facility is accredited and licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education and Office of Child Care.
CMA Kids Care: Locally owned and operated for more than three decades, Chesapeake Martial Arts (CMA) Kids Care not only offers martial arts classes, but a robust after-school program for children. In a structured environment, kids can step away from the computer screen and participate in physical fitness activities.
Coastal Early Learning Center: Coastal Early Learning Center uses the Montessori Method, a child-centered educational approach that teaches kids through hands-on materials. Open to children ages 2-6, all programs are a 12-month program. The school year runs September through June, with fun-filled summer activities and guest speakers added to Montessori classes in July and August.
Eastern Shore Early Learning: Located in Berlin, Eastern Shore Early Learning offers certified child care professionals, summer camps, full- and part-time care, and before- and after-school programs for children ages six weeks to 12 years. Pick up and drop off bus service is also provided to Buckingham Elementary School, and transportation is provided to Berlin Intermediate, Ocean City Elementary, Most Blessed Sacrament, Showell Elementary and Seaside Christian Academy.
Little Hearts Christian Child Care Center: Little Hearts allows children to develop at their own rate. The Christian-based program focuses on the child’s interests and teach basic cognitive and social skills. The child care facility is licensed by the state and provides for children ages 2-10.
Little Lambs Learning Center: At Little Lambs Learning Center, children ages six weeks to 12 years benefit from both full- and part-time educational programs. Kids participate in gross motor play for at least 30 minutes each morning and afternoon, and use a curriculum developed and approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. The learning center also serves children with diagnosed special needs. All staff are enrolled in the Maryland State Child Care Credentialing Program and maintain a minimum of 18 hours of continuing education each year.
Seaside Christian Academy: In addition to elementary and secondary education, Seaside Christian Academy offers pre-K3 and pre-K4 classrooms, which operate under a letter of compliance from the state of Maryland. Parents can expect music, play, rest time and age-appropriate academic instruction.
Sunny Start Learning Center: Licensed for children ages 2-10, Sunny Start Learning Center focuses on childhood development and supporting each child’s strengths and interests. In addition to full-time care, the facility also offers part-time and before- and after-school care. Sunny Start is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Training Station: The Training Station, located in Berlin, offers full-day child care and preschool programs, as well as afternoon preschool. The facility also offers summer camps and extended days, during which children can stay a few hours beyond their preschool day or add an extra session to their schedule.
Worcester Preparatory School: Worcester Preparatory School’s pre-K program offers intentional play activities that introduce academics within a carefree environment. Both its pre-K and kindergarten programs also introduce critical social skills, allowing students to develop not only language skills, but tone and body language.
