Ocean City

Every Sunday: Sundaes in the Park

Held each Sunday throughout the summer season, Sundaes in the Park features free live music and children’s activities, as well as ice cream, which is available for purchase. Families are encouraged to bring their picnic baskets and beach chairs to Northside Park and enjoy free entertainment as the sun sets over the Assawoman Bay. A fireworks display will end each event. The weekly event is held from 7-9 p.m.

Every Sunday: Sunset Park Party Nights

Enjoy a free concert and watch the sunset over the Isle of Wight Bay from Sunset Park, located at S. Division Street and the bay, near the U.S. Coast Guard station. Held each Sunday from 7-9 p.m. throughout the summer, attendees are invited to bring a chair, purchase a beverage and enjoy the sounds from local bands. Admission is free.

Every Monday: Beach Movies

Families are invited to gather for movie nights on the beach Monday, all summer long. Movies start at 8:30 p.m. and will be displayed on a big screen on the beach. Held at the 27th Street beach.

Every Monday: Fireworks Along The Beach

End the night with a free fireworks display along the Boardwalk. Shows are held every Monday from July 10 through August 28, beginning at 8 p.m.

August 5-6: Ocean City Taco Festival

Held at the Ocean City convention center, the Taco Festival will feature tacos from the area’s best restaurants and food trucks. The event will include $4 tacos, live music and mariachi bands, a tequila expo tent, margarita bars, a hot chili pepper eating contest and much more. Activities and games for all ages will be available. Tickets are $9.99 for general admission, $49.99 for VIP admission and free for children ages 10 and under.

Aug. 7-11: White Marlin Open and Marlin Fest

The 50th annual White Marlin Open returns to Ocean City for a week of sportfishing. Billed the world’s largest billfish tournament, the event attracts people and celebrities from around the globe and features more than a million dollars in prizes. Spectators can watch weigh-ins in real time by visiting Marlin Fest, located in downtown Ocean City. Watch the action on the big screen and enjoy vendors, food, drinks and entertainment for the entire family.

Aug. 12: The Ultimate Vegas Variety Show

The Ultimate Variety Show, featuring recreations of Las Vegas’ top impersonators, comes to the Ocean City convention center on Aug. 12. Watch your favorite superstars, including Sonny and Cher, Billy Joel, Elton John and Ray Charles, come alive on the big stage. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

Aug. 24-27: OC Jeep Week

Hosted at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and within the Ocean City area, OC Jeep Week will feature beach crawls, Jeep Jams and much more.

Aug. 30: Originals Only

The Art League of Ocean City will host its monthly Originals Only showcase from 7-9 p.m. Enjoy coffee and live performances by DomtheGonzo, Josh Quillen, Big Chap and Fraiser Fir. Event is free to attend.

Berlin

Every Sunday: Berlin Farmers Market

Held each Sunday in downtown Berlin, the producers-only farmers market features jams, jellies, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, flowers and more. Live music is also held from 10 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. The market opens at 9 a.m.

Aug. 5: Peach Festival

Held each year around the Calvin B. Taylor House Museum, the Berlin Peach Festival offers peach sales, pie-baking contests, music, crafts and food vendors. The event kicks off at 10 a.m., and free shuttles will be available at Berlin Intermediate School. The event is hosted by the Berlin Heritage Foundation.

Aug. 13: Sundays at the Museum

The Calvin B. Taylor House Museum will host Sundays at the Museum on Aug. 13, beginning at 6 p.m. Join for fun and music.

Fenwick Island

August 16: Fenwick Flicks

Join for kids’ games with the Fenwick Island Beach Patrol, followed by a viewing of Moana. Festivities begin at 8 p.m. on the Bayard Street beach.

Bethany Beach

Every Sunday: Bethany Beach Farmers Market

The producers-only Bethany Beach Farmers Market is held each Sunday, beginning June 11, from 8 a.m. to noon. Vendors will be stationed at Garfield Parkway and Pennsylvania Avenue, across the street from PNC Bank, selling their produce and wares.

Every Monday: Movies on the Beach

The Town of Bethany Beach will host its weekly Movies on the Beach throughout the summer season. Family-friendly movies will be played on the beach every Monday evening, beginning at dusk.

August 12: Trail Day

Join Friends of Holts Landing State Park for its monthly Trail Day. Join crews in sprucing up the trails. Coffee, donuts and tools are provided. The event is held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Dewey Beach

Every Monday: Movies on Dewey Beach

Families are invited to the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue every Monday for a free family movie night. The weekly event begins June 20, and movies will begin at 8:30 p.m. Glow necklaces will also be available with a $1 donation.

Every Wednesday: Bonfires on Dewey Beach

Families are invited to bring their beach chairs to Dagsworthy Avenue on Wednesday evenings for a bonfire on the beach. Held from 7-9 p.m., beginning June 22, the weekly event features glow sticks and marshmallows with a $1 donation. Parking in Dewey Beach is free between the hours of 5-11 p.m., Monday through Wednesday.

Aug. 8: Restaurant Olympics

Hosted by Dewey Business Partnership, the Restaurant Olympics pits local businesses against each other for a chance to win a trophy and a year’s worth of bragging rights. Teams from each participating business compete in restaurant-themed games.

Aug. 11-13: ZAP PRO/AM World Championships of Skimboarding

The 41st annual event returns to the Dagsworthy Street beach in Dewey. Medals and prize bags will be awarded to the top four competitors in all amateur divisions. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in the men’s professional division and the women’s professional division.

Rehoboth Beach

Every Tuesday: Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market

Held at Grove Park each Tuesday throughout the summer season, the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market features vendors selling produce, baked goods, breads and more. The weekly event is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.

August 2: Mar-Del Watermelon Boardwalk Promotion

The Delaware Department of Agriculture and Mar-Del Watermelon Association will offer free watermelon slices from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of a boardwalk promotion.

August 13: Run For JJ 5K

Organized by Seashore Striders, Run for JJ 5K is largely run through Henlopen Acres. The run, which is held from 7:30-9 a.m., benefits the Joseph “JJ” Stein Foundation.

August 19: Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hike

The Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hike brings together veterans and active-duty soldiers for a hike designed to prevent soldier and veteran suicide. The Rehoboth Beach event, held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature routes through Grove Park, Deauville Beach, the boardwalk and the bandstand.

August 20: Firefightin’ 5K

The Firefightin’ 5K, a Seashore Strider race, benefits the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company. The race kicks off at 8 a.m. at the fire station.

August 28: Sun Festival 5K

Hosted by Seashore Striders, the Sun Festival 5K is a run or walk event to benefit CAMP Rehoboth. The race will be held from 8-9:30 a.m.

Every Saturday: Historic Lewes Farmers Market

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market returns to George H.P. Smith Park for the summer season. Held each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, the market features jams and jellies, fresh fruits and vegetables and more.

August 1: Lewes National Night Out

Spend the evening with local law enforcement officers and enjoy bounce houses, giveaways, information booths and more. The event is held from 5-8 p.m. in George H.P. Smith Park.

August 5-6, August 12-13: 50th Annual Outdoor Fine Arts & Fine Craft Show

The Outdoor Show returns to Henlopen Acres with more than 100 artists and artisans displaying and selling their fine arts and crafts. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

August 17: Concert in the Park

Can’t Fool the Blues will perform at Lewes Canalfront Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, low-back chair and picnic and enjoy the music.

August 26: Annual Beach BBQ

The Children’s Beach House will host its annual beach BBQ from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This year’s theme will be “Totally 80’s.” Join for food and fun.

August 31: Concert in the Park

Mike Hines and the Look will perform at Lewes Canalfront Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, low-back chair and picnic and enjoy the music.
